Dinosaurs with Armin Schmitt

June 3 @ 14:30 - 16:30

The CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY GERMAN SOCIETY proudly presents Armin Schmitt and his book on dinosaurs – the Magnificent Giants of the Mesozoic.
In his non-fiction book, the palaeontologist Armin Schmitt gives a first-hand account of the latest research on these primeval giants, of spectacular expeditions and surprising finds. This very entertaining read for everyone, who is interested in the largest land animals that have ever inhabited our planet, will be the basis for a brief lecture, exclusive to our members and a Q&A session with Armin and the vice president of the society Nico Müller. Together they will discuss, colouration in dinosaurs, soft tissue preservation in amber, the mind-boggling time of the dinosaurs’ reign but also the grave effects of climate change to their evolution and ultimate demise, which is more relevant than ever.
Afterwards one will have the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating giants during a guided walkthrough of the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences.
Armin Schmitt is a vertebrate palaeontologist and PhD student at the Department of Earth Sciences at Cambridge University.
